The sheet production industry represents the single largest segment of the die market. Because of the broad range of polymers processed and the diversity of widths and thicknesses produced, the sheet industry requires an extensive variety of equipment options. Cloeren offers the most varied and innovative choices for sheet extrusion - feedblocks, single and multi-manifold dies, and optional equipment.

Cloeren's vast industry knowledge, plus our commitment to advancing die and feedblock technology, has led to significant breakthroughs in appliance, medical and pharmaceutical, automotive, aircraft, recreational, food packaging and a host of other markets. Our product line includes specific products with particular application for the sheet market:
  • Restrictor bar dies for maximum processing flexibility
  • QuickGap™ lip mechanism for single-point, accurate, repeatable adjustment that extends the lip opening range by as much as .200-inch (5mm)
  • Lip adjustment options, including removable lips, flexible lips, sliding lips, shimmable lips and captivated stud lips
  • External Deckle Systems such as the Power Wedge™ external deckle to enable changes to the extrudate width on-line without downtime
  • Extended-range AutoGauge™ automatic cross-directional gauge control for optimum uniformity and maximum movement.

Today, Cloeren equipment is producing very wide geomembrane sheet and very narrow sheet for laboratory applications. Our dies make thin sheet for thermoformed packaging, as well as sheet over 1 inch thick for chemical-resistant applications. Our dies now dominate the vinyl siding market because they save material costs by allowing expensive UV cap layers to be applied more thinly and uniformly at higher outputs. Cloeren technology also allows appliance sheet manufactures to produce thin, uniform multi-layer sheet.

Cloeren has developed dies that allow medical suppliers of blood bags to increase production rates and run times. A unique Cloeren technology extrudes filled polymers onto the back of carpet for automotive applications. And, we invented a way to coextrude the color band for tinted windshields, eliminating 30 days from the production cycle.

Cloeren sheet die systems are also used to manufacture shower and tub surrounds, spa tub liners, drinking cups, thermoformed food and consumer packaging, door panels and automotive parts, aircraft components and high-performance, high barrier sheet.
